Lasting memories in a student’s life are deservedly from the campus life during one’s student days. SMOT in Chennai is an experience by itself with its location, ambience, activities and opportunities.

SMOT fosters the belief that the students of management education receive a significant part of their knowledge from the campus life in order for them to achieve a well rounded and complete personality.

Located on the IT Corridor of Chennai, SMOT lives and breathes corporate life every moment. The drive through the IT superhighway offers a unique experience to the students, located just about a kilometre from the major IT Park building of the city by name TIDEL Park.  Students get to see some of the well known companies around them; a scenic beauty particularly in the night.

The office of the Dean plans and implements programs and activities that make life in SMOT enjoyable and rewarding.

In order for the students to develop qualities of mutual appreciation, empathy and lasting friendship, the students start their study in SMOT with an out bound trip to a hill station and stay together for three to four days. This is a fitting start for an eventful academic year that follows.

Major part of learning in SMOT happens through group work. Students have exclusive group study rooms within the campus – a place where memories are made and the dreams dreamt. These rooms,  fondly called Kens, offer them space to be casual, to talk, discuss, engage in serious discussions, plan, practise …in short the most creative part of their campus life.

Library in SMOT is a place where the students will look forward to spend their time. Unlike most libraries, where the students are expected to be serious and quiet, SMOT presents a completely different time to the students in the library. While they refer learning resources or browse Internet or access databases, they are free to talk debate and be casual. Students can engage in discussion within the library to complete their assignments.

Students Self Governance is of paramount importance in SMOT. Be it cultural events or social meetings or catering, they are encouraged to manage all affairs related to these activities. Monthly chill out sessions with the Director, Dean, faculty and staff give the students ample opportunity to share their views, at the same time, package different cultural events.

The campus, being corporate in ambience, presents an atmosphere of professionalism. This demands a responsible learning and behaviour that right away prepares the students for a well laid out professional life after graduation.
