The applicants should have a formal bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized institution in India or abroad.
The candidate's academic performance in the pre-collegiate education and participation and significant achievements in extra-curricular activities will largely determine his/her chances of being selected for the program. However, there are specific admission requirements in SMOT. A student may be required to commit, tentatively at least, a career option in one of the functional areas such as finance, marketing, operations, human resources or information technology. In addition, applicants will have demonstrated certain qualities that are dear to SMOT students such as powerful vision for the future. Applicants are also evaluated based on their performance in the written test conducted by SMOT. The test generally evaluates a candidate for his/her aptitude and verbal ability. An applicant producing valid CAT / GMAT score will be exempted from the written test. Further, a candidate will appear for a personal interaction with the faculty of SMOT.
